what’s the rule on the bottom of the pants compared to the bottom of the shoe’s heel?

It’s a matter of personal preference, and it involves how much the pants break over the front of the shoe as well. I prefer little to no break, where the pant touches the top of the shoe in front but isn’t much longer. It’s a nice, clean look. At the longest, a full break may cover the whole of the shoe’s upper at the heel but shouldn’t come down below the top of the heel itself.
