I have a love affair with flannel suitings, wool ties, and other fabrics and items that have texture. It’s one of the reasons I love fall and winter clothing so much more than spring and summer – the fabrics have much more surface interest, which in addition to color and pattern adds another element of depth and contrast to liven up an outfit subtly.
Suit: Brooks Brothers, warehouse sale, $150
Shirt: Brooks Brothers, store sale, $30
Tie: Vintage Rivetz of Boston, thrifted, $2
Shoes: Allen-Edmonds Park Avenue, Ebay, $40
Total: $222
If I’d paid retail prices: Close to $1500

Are you aware of any warehouse sales that take place in the CT/NY area?
Thanks,
Mark
Mark, J Press has them once or twice a year. Brooks has occasionally done them as one-off events at the Madison Ave location. There may well be others; I’m not sure. A search at Styleforum would be your best bet to find them.
Thanks Jeff – will search on SF.
Dude, that’s sharp!
I’m not a big DB fan, but you wear it well. The tie dimple… mwah! Looks like you could shave with that pants crease. =:-)
When you’re looking like that for pennies on the dollar, not sure why anyone pays retail…
